Privacy policy

What personal data this website collects, why, who else receives it, and the choices you have.

Last updated:

This policy covers www.bayanatlabs.com. It explains what we measure when you visit, what happens when you apply to the Talent Network or contact us about a project, and how to opt out or ask us to delete your data.

In short
  • We use Google Analytics 4 on every page, for every visitor. There is no cookie banner; this page is how we tell you. You can switch it off at any time; see “How to opt out” below.
  • We never send what you type into a form to Google. Analytics records that a form was used, not what was in it.
  • Talent Network applications are stored with Supabase so our team can review them and contact you about opportunities.
  • The pilot scoping form sends nothing to our servers. It opens an email in your own email app, and we only receive it if you send it.
  • We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • Email hello@bayanatlabs.com to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you.

Who we are

Bayanat Labs is an Arabic data company for AI, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We run this website and are responsible for the personal data collected through it. You can reach us at hello@bayanatlabs.com.

This policy is about the website. Data you send us for a client project (for example, recordings or text to annotate) is handled under the defaults described on Security and data handling.

Website analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read, how they find us and which parts of the site lead to an enquiry or an application. It runs on every page of www.bayanatlabs.com for every visitor, unless you opt out. It does not run on preview copies of the site.

What Google Analytics collects

CategoryWhat is recorded
PagesThe pages you view (address and title), the page that referred you to us, and how long you engage with each page.
Approximate locationA coarse location, such as city and country, derived from your IP address. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
Device and browserDevice type, operating system, browser, screen size and language.
InteractionsThrough Google's enhanced measurement: scrolling to the bottom of a page, clicks on links to other websites, file downloads (for example, the LabelBench paper), and starting or submitting a form (which form, not its contents).
Enquiries and applicationsThree events we added ourselves: a click on an email link, sending the pilot scoping form, and a successful Talent Network application. The application event carries only the short identifier of the role you applied for (for example, general-application).

None of these events include your name, email address, phone number, message, CV or any other answer you type. With these three events, our code sends only the event name, a short label for how you got in touch (email_link or scope_form) and, for applications, the role identifier.

Cookies set by Google Analytics

Google Analytics stores two first-party cookies on bayanatlabs.com: _ga, which distinguishes one visitor from another with a random identifier, and _ga_<ID>, which keeps track of your current session. Google documents a default expiry of two years for both.

What we have switched off

Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, both in our Analytics tag and in our Analytics property settings, and Google's optional data-sharing settings for our Analytics account are turned off. We do not use Google Analytics, or anything else on this site, for advertising or remarketing, and there are no advertising tags on this site.

How long Analytics data is kept

Our Google Analytics retention setting keeps user-level and event-level data for 14 months. Google notes that this setting applies to detailed explorations and does not remove the standard aggregated reports.

How Google uses this data

For Google's own account of what it does with data from sites that use its services, read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.

How to opt out of Google Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Our host, Cloudflare, also adds its Web Analytics script to our pages, which gives us page-view and page-speed figures. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage to collect usage metrics, and does not fingerprint visitors.

Talent Network applications

When you apply for a role through the Talent Network, the application form collects:

TypeInformation
RequiredFull name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and country of residence.
OptionalCity, nationality, whether you currently live in Saudi Arabia, the Arabic dialects you can work in, your Arabic proficiency level, English level, areas of expertise, years of relevant experience, highest education, anything you write in the free-text box, and a CV or résumé (PDF, DOC or DOCX, up to 5 MB).
Added automaticallyThe role you applied for, the language you used the form in (English or Arabic), the address of the page that sent you to the form, your browser's user-agent string (browser and operating system), and any campaign tags in the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, source or ref).

Where it is stored. Your application is saved in a database run by Supabase, and your CV, if you attach one, is uploaded to Supabase file storage. It is sent when you press submit, not before.

Why we use it. To review your application and to contact you, by email or WhatsApp, about opportunities that match your profile. Before you can submit, you tick a box agreeing that Bayanat Labs may store the information you provide and contact you about opportunities, and that you can request deletion at any time.

Your control. To see the information you sent, correct it, withdraw your consent or have your application and CV deleted, email hello@bayanatlabs.com, ideally from the address you applied with.

Google Analytics receives only the fact that an application was submitted and the role identifier, as described above. The Talent Network pages also remember whether you chose English or Arabic, in your browser's local storage.

Project enquiries and email

The pilot scoping form. The scoping form on our Company page does not send your answers to our servers, and nothing you type into it is stored on this website. When you press “Email this to Bayanat Labs”, your browser opens a new message in your own email app, addressed to hello@bayanatlabs.com, with your answers filled in. You can edit it or discard it; we only receive it if you send it. Google Analytics records that the form was used, not what you wrote.

Email to us. When you email hello@bayanatlabs.com, we receive your email address, your name as your email app shows it, and whatever you include in the message and attachments. We use it to reply to you and to scope and run any work you ask us about. Our email is hosted by Google Workspace.

Services that receive your request when pages load

Some parts of each page are delivered by other companies. Your browser connects to them directly, so they receive your IP address and basic browser information as part of that request.

Your choices and rights

We may ask you to confirm that the request comes from you before we act on it. Google Analytics data is tied to a random identifier in your browser, not to your name, so the most direct way to control it is with the opt-out options above.
